Sunday company

I think Dawson took it pretty well....if this guy was holding me, I'd be going crazy. This is my fishing buddy/co-worker Ray, who rode up to our house Sunday with his wife Tammy to see the new addition.

Grammy also stopped by on Sunday afternoon for some face time.

Happy Dads Day to Me

My happiness has heartbeats.

Baths and Horses

The days are passing without much event. This is probably a good thing. I was back to work last week and Macy was in school, so Crystal had baby D at home alone. She's taking 8 weeks maternity leave, two of which are now gone. But she'll get to take Macy to VBS and swim lessons in July, and their both looking forward to that.

Dawson got his first bath last weekend, and as the picture shows, he didn't exactly enjoy it. He's had a couple more since, but I wasn't around with the camera.

Macy was invited to a birthday party yesterday at a horse stable. The kids lined up to take rides around the arena....needless to say she had a blast. It's not every day a girl gets to ride a horse in her flip flops.

That's been about it for the past week. I did pass my drivers portion of the motorcycle test Friday, so I'm legal as can be. We're off to our first morning of church with Dawson. Hopefully he reacts well to large crowds!

Visit

No, that's not Harrison Ford in a white beard. "Grandfather" Carl with the James family namesake.

Grammy with Dawson.

I called my sis at 4am and told her Dawson would be arriving later that morning but to sleep a few more hours. She threw my suggestions out the window and came straight over. Here she is with big sister Macy and lil D soon after delivery.

Tony with 3 month old Turner and myself with 2 day old Dawson. He also has a daughter, Tori, who is about a year and a half younger than Macy.

Everything has been going good. Sleep comes in 2-3 hour intervals, but that's a temporary pleasure. Macy is adjusting well, considering she's been an only child for 5 and a half years. (and spoiled at that!) We've had numerous visitors and well wishes.....and lots of delivered food.

Dawson (Ace) William James

As is usually the case in life, nothing goes according to plan. This is probably compounded when you try to plan acts that are completely out of your control. But hey! Less is more and it's all good!
Crystal was scheduled to be induced June 10. (That's today) Instead, our little diaper fund decided to show up Monday morning. This was, of course, fine with us. He arrived in superb condition and looking almost identical to his big sister Macy when she was born. ( granted they have different plumbing )
I'm not going to assume that I know diddly squat about labor pain, but he seemed to take it pretty easy on mom and she is doing good. As good as can be expected when your sleep comes in two hour intervals anyway. We arrived home this afternoon and Macy got to hang out with him a bit before bed.....they don't hate each other yet so I'm taking that as a good sign. We've had lots of well wishes, cute and handy gifts, and are thankful for everything.

Here is a quick pick of mom and baby before I sneak in some sleep. I'll be back soon with more pics and a story or two.

The wheels on the bus go....

I wonder if she'll stay that happy about school buses for the next 13 years?

That bun in the oven is done

I've got happy feet! After work on Saturday (what does anyone in their right mind work on Saturday for?) I loaded the wife, the daughter, and the hospital bags in the truck and went boot shopping. There were some labor pains but no delivery. Cris' next appointment is Friday morning. It's the last sonogram and also a possible inducement scheduled. So one way or the other...the end is near.

Macy started summer school on Monday....got to ride the school bus for the first time...and was/is terribly excited about the whole endeavor. I just feel old about the entire thing. Not the fact that I have a kid getting ready to start kindergarten. It's that they have summer school for kids who haven't even started school yet! Used to be if you were in school during the warm season you hadn't studied your math enough. The times they are a changing. This session runs for one month, and I'm glad she's liking it. (I'll get the pic loaded shortly)

My next post may very well be pics of the world's newest James Clan member...which I think is why I started this blog to begin with. Oops! I may have gone off track with a few post...or all but a few post. Wish us luck!
