99 Floors

My wife and I are not big fans of height. This is a bit strange because I'm 6'4" and she's 6'2". Since we were in Chicago I figured we just had to go up Sear's Tower. I was imaging some wind in my hair.....feeling the building sway back and forth a bit......but what I got was an office floor void of everything but elevators and a gift shop. Go figure. On the up side, it was still a great view and nobody jumped!

On top of the world with my three favorite people.

Harley Land

If you asked me to name 10 places I'd like to see before I get my wings Milwaukee probably would not have made the list. Having said that, I'm glad I went. For those who don't know, my wife is employed as a financial analyst by Harley here in K.C. She's been north several times and wanted me to come check it out.....and like any husband in his right mind, I went.

The bike pictured behind me is the oldest known to exist....but it's not the first produced. Check your barns everybody!

Harley once produced boats and yes, golf carts! So much for the outlaw image.

Oar what?

I would probably post here more often, except for lack of pictures. It just seems you can't have a blog posting without a picture. Enter my friend Joey to save the day. He stopped by the other night to deliver my oar. Okay...that sounds a bit odd, but the dude carved up a custom oar for our fishing trip this year. We stay at "The Old Oar House", which is decorated with engraved oars that people donate to mark a special occasion. This year was special for me because it marked the 10th year I've been down to Warsaw to hunt the wild spoonbill.

An oldie but a goodie....if you get the chance to check it out, check it out.

He does his carving free hand with a router...it's amazing stuff. If you ever need a sign made out of wood this is the guy you need to see.

Something about sitting on a Harley that makes you want one. He's getting married pretty soon so I bet it'll have to wait. (start begging now buddy)
